Our theme this year is to #DareGreatly!

Not only we have set an ambitious fundraising goal, mostly we CHOOSE TO and we WANT TO dare greatly for those who thought they are #forgotten in their plight of being trapped in exploitative situations in Cambodia.

Such #Dare is not for the faint-hearted. We know our #5kmWalkathonparticipants and supporters also CHOOSE TO and WANT TO dare greatly alongside with us!!

In this video, Ratanak’s Founding Director, Brian McConaghy, shares about Prey Tea Hope Project, one of the initiatives supported by funds raised in this year’s 5kmWalkathon.

This magnet will be “clothed” in the authentic Cambodia fabric to serve as a reminder of why we do what we do and for you to remember your significant support to walk with us on June 9 for Cambodia! Early bird deadline is May 21, so register today!

The Long Road continues after 500km

On April 26, Larry Dearlove, our 5KM’s Head Organizer, started his journey running to Waterloo (nearly 100km) in order to participate in the Waterloo Marathon on April 30 – THIS WILL BE his 9th marathon (another 42.2km)! He has run since 2009 to support the work of Ratanak International.

His one goal is to continue to run and raise funds and awareness to stand behind the 4 key responses of Ratanak International to confront trafficking and exploitation:

PREVENT – Equip Cambodians to prevent exploitation
PROTECT – Working collaboratively to protect the vulnerable
RETURN – Help the trafficked return home
RESTORE – Persevere in love to restore survivors

We pray boldly and trust in the Lord boldly for what He sets out for us to achieve through this year’s 5KM Walkathon. Your actions are going to play a vital part in someone’s healing and restoration in Cambodia!

In February 2017, Toronto Core Group members Jessika Mak and Audrey Chia went to Cambodia with Ratanak International to visit projects. On one very special day, they met with Reaksa Himm, a long-time friend of Brian McConaghy and Ratanak International. He is a survivor of the killing fields who is dedicated to restoring his country in Jesus’ name. After sharing his testimony with the group in his home village near Siem Reap, the guys from the vision team and the local boys got together to play a game of hockey – Reaksa’s favourite sport! What a true privilege to see how God saves people in the most remarkable way, and transforms darkness and despair into joy and freedom!
