Is this a fundraiser?
Absolutely! While this is a fundraising event, participants are encouraged, not only to work hard to achieve their fundraising goal, but also to let people know why they are participating by raising awareness of the exploitation issues in Cambodia.
What is this fundraiser for?
We are fundraising for Ratanak International’s Anti-Exploitation Projects.
Is there a registration fee for the Walkathon?
Yes. Registration fees are collected to cover the cost of the event (permits, food, promotional material, freebies for participants): $25 for adults, $15 for Students (aged 13-18), $5 for kids (aged 12 or under). Please also note that registration fees are not donations and therefore are not qualified for tax receipt issuance.
Can I register if I don't have a credit card or a PayPal account?
Absolutely. Send us an email at email@example.com and notify us. We will send you a confirmation about your registration and you can pay your fee on the day of the Walkathon.
Is the registration fee refundable?
The registration fee is non-refundable. Please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate to your situation.
Is my information secure?
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, we have put in place physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online and on paper.
Where can I download the Waiver form?
Please download and sign our Waiver form (pdf) here (please bring this with you to the Walkathon).
How are online donations made?
Can people donate towards my walk?
Yes. Once you create a fundraiser profile, you can direct people towards your link or unique text command (for example “To donate to Paul, text HOPE5 to 855 950 0303” in order to donate.
Are 100% of the proceeds going towards Ratanak International?
As a volunteer-based group organizing this fundraiser for Ratanak we strive to maintain that 100% of the donations raised will be going towards Ratanak International’s anti-exploitation programs. The registration fee helps cover the cost of overhead expenses associated with running this event.
When will I receive my receipt?
You will receive a charitable receipt from Ratanak International in early 2018 for any donation over $15.
Where can I download a pledge form to collect cash donations?
Feel free to use our Pledge form (pdf) to collect donations. Please bring all pledge forms, cash and cheques along to the walkathon on Saturday, June 17, 2017.
Is there an alternative to donating online if I won't be at the walk?
Of course. You can send a cheque payable to “5KM Walkathon” to the address below. Your tax receipt will be issued from Ratanak International in early 2017 according to the currency of the bank account. Feel free to drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can expect your mailed donation.
Day of Event
Is there parking?
Yes, there are lots of free parking spaces at Erindale Park. We will be at Lot B.
Are there washrooms?
Yes, Erindale Park has washroom facilities near our gathering spot.
Is food provided?
Yes, we will have drinks and refreshments (coffee, juice, croissants, brownies, fruit and vegetables. There will be several water stations as well throughout the walk. We encourage participants to bring a water bottle.
What does the route look like?
We will be starting at Area B and following the course of the Credit River northwest along the Culham Trail.
